It was an acceptable experience . The owner needs to work on his social skills and communication. The place is well maintained and the equipment is all top notch. However the lack of electricity from 5am to 9pm should be discussed prior to booking as should the notion that for the majority of the time you can expect to catch only 12 inch walleye. And when you do land a nice fish and bring it back for dinner you are made to feel terrible about doing so. This logic seems different to most conservationists who suggest releasing the majority of small fish to give them the chance to get big, and keeping one or two larger ones to feed on. We will not be returning. Clark was the only positive of the entire experience as he goes beyond to ensure the guests have a good time unfortunately he can only make up for the owners lack of professionalism so much .

I have been going to horwood Outpost for years and have always been treated great. I have taken family friends always to leave having a wonderful experience. Richard has given me pleanty of tips on where to fish what to use and even taken us out himself on his boat. I have bear hunted there as well with great success we have left with 6 hunters 6 bears Richard knows what he is doing you just have to follow instructions and be patient. My family has developed a great relationship with Richard Joyce and his Dad Gabe and consider them good friends and good people I highly recomend Horwood Outpost.

Horrible place, Worst trip i have ever been on. I won this trip as an early bird prize from a fishing tournament. Not sure if thats why i got treated so poorly or not. Owner came and picked us up from meeting place, drove us by boat to camp. Once we got to camp he walked away never said anything to us. Not enjoy your stay, Not if we need anything let him know.... Nothing. When i booked the trip he told me to come this week because the other ppl that would be at camp knew the lake well so he would be able to help us "catch Fish"... He never said two words to us the whole time there. Even after a few days of failed fishing not one person offered us any help. When i did as what we were doing wrong we were told " the fish dont like you plastics" that was it. Power off at 5 am till 930 pm, Was fine but to see the owner with a bell satellite dish well we sat in the dark playing cards and making dinner was a bit much. Owner spent the whole time with his "buddy's" After have a few failed days of fishing the last straw was when we were out tuesday morning as i went to start motor cord broke. Thankfully enough motor started so we were able to make it back to camp. We had enough and said we wanted to leave. We then had to wait 3 hrs for owner richard to come back before we could even go home. As we got on the boat to leave the guy who worked there brought over a stringer of fish and said "look what richard caught today" as we left empty handed, Great way to rub it in. Also charges $1.60 a liter for gas.... Last i checked gas was about $1.10.. A .50 cent profit seems high to me.....
